Holland Lop Adoption Process and Sales Policy
At Holland Lop Hill Rabbitry in Sedona, Arizona, we want every Holland Lop adoption process to be a smooth, transparent, and joyful experience for both you and your new bunny. This page explains exactly how the adoption process works, what to expect at each step, our sales policy, and what is included when you bring a Holland Lop home from our family-run rabbitry.
We have refined our Holland Lop adoption process over years of placing bunnies with families across the United States. Whether you are picking up locally in Sedona or having your Holland Lop shipped through trusted nationwide ground transport, every step is designed to protect your bunny, keep you fully informed, and make the transition into your home as easy as possible.
The Holland Lop Adoption Process Step-by-Step
Every Holland Lop adoption process at Holland Lop Hill follows the same six steps, from your first inquiry to lifetime support after your bunny arrives home.
- 1
Submit Your Inquiry
Browse our currently available Holland Lop bunnies and submit an inquiry through our contact form. Tell us about your home, family, experience with rabbits, and which Holland Lop you are most interested in. The more we know, the better we can match you with the right bunny.
- 2
We Review and Respond Within 24 Hours
Every inquiry is read personally by our family. We confirm bunny availability, ask any follow-up questions about your home or experience level, and provide pricing, hold deposit details, and pickup or shipping options. You will hear back within 24 hours of submitting your inquiry.
- 3
Reserve Your Bunny with a Hold Deposit
Once you decide to move forward, a non-refundable hold deposit officially reserves your Holland Lop. The deposit removes the bunny from our available list, prevents anyone else from reserving them, and is applied directly toward the final purchase price of your bunny.
- 4
Receive Updates Until Pickup Day
From reservation until pickup, we send you regular photos, weight check-ins, and any developmental milestones. This is also the time to ask questions about diet, housing, and what to prepare. Many families use this window to set up their bunny's space and order supplies.
- 5
Local Pickup or Nationwide Shipping
When your Holland Lop is fully weaned, vet-checked, and ready to go home, we coordinate either local pickup at our rabbitry in Sedona, Arizona, or USDA-compliant ground transport directly to your home. All arrangements are confirmed before your bunny travels, and you receive updates throughout the journey.
- 6
Lifetime Breeder Support
The adoption process does not end when your bunny goes home. Every family receives a personalized care guide, a written health guarantee, and direct access to us by email for any questions about diet, housing, behavior, or general care for the life of your Holland Lop.
Holland Lop Sales Policy
Our sales policy is designed to protect both your investment and the wellbeing of every Holland Lop we place. Here are the terms that apply to every adoption.
Hold Deposit and Payment Terms
A non-refundable hold deposit is required to officially reserve any Holland Lop. The deposit secures your bunny, removes them from our available list, and is credited toward the final purchase price. Remaining balance is due before pickup or before shipping arrangements are finalized.
We accept payment by Zelle, Apple Pay, and direct bank transfer. Specific deposit amounts and payment instructions are sent in our reply to your inquiry. Once full payment is received and your Holland Lop has cleared their final health check, we proceed with pickup or shipping coordination.
If for any reason you need to cancel a reservation, the hold deposit is not refundable since the bunny was held off the market on your behalf. However, in most cases we can apply the deposit toward a different Holland Lop from a current or upcoming litter.
What's Included with Every Adoption
- Written health guarantee covering congenital issues
- Personalized care guide with diet, housing, and first-week instructions

- Photos and milestone updates from birth to pickup

Holland Lop Health Guarantee
Every Holland Lop bunny that completes our adoption process comes with a written health guarantee.
What the Health Guarantee Covers
Each Holland Lop is examined by a licensed veterinarian before going home and confirmed to be free of communicable disease and visible health concerns. The guarantee covers congenital and hereditary issues discovered within the first 30 days. If a covered issue is identified during this window and verified by an independent veterinarian, we will work with you on either a replacement bunny from a future litter or a partial refund based on the specific circumstances.
The guarantee does not cover issues caused by improper diet, housing, accidents, exposure to disease after the bunny leaves our care, or normal adjustment behaviors that occur during the first few weeks at home. Detailed health guarantee terms are included in your care packet at pickup or shipping.
Pickup at Our Sedona Rabbitry
Local pickup at our family-run rabbitry in Sedona, Arizona is welcomed by appointment. Pickup visits typically take 30 to 45 minutes and include a final health check meeting, hands-on time with your Holland Lop, the care guide handoff, and a chance to ask any last-minute questions before the journey home. For your bunny's safety and our family's privacy, all visits are scheduled only after a hold deposit has been received and a pickup date has been confirmed.
Nationwide Holland Lop Shipping
If you are not local to Arizona, we coordinate USDA-compliant ground pet transport to every state in the contiguous United States. The carriers we work with specialize in small-animal travel, use climate-controlled vehicles, and provide regular check-in updates throughout the journey. Shipping costs vary by distance and are confirmed before any transport is booked. Read our full Nationwide Ground Transport page for shipping logistics, timing, and what to expect.
Holland Lop Adoption Process FAQ
Common questions families ask us about the adoption process. If your question is not here, just ask in your inquiry form.
How long does the entire adoption process take?
From inquiry to bunny arriving home, the typical Holland Lop adoption process takes between two and six weeks. The exact timeline depends on whether you are reserving a bunny who is already weaned and ready to go, or joining the waitlist for an upcoming litter. We will give you a specific timeline in our reply to your inquiry.
What is the hold deposit, and is it refundable?
The hold deposit is a non-refundable payment that officially reserves your Holland Lop. It is applied toward the total purchase price. If you cancel for any reason, the deposit is not refunded because the bunny was held off the market on your behalf. In most cases, we can apply the deposit toward a different bunny from a current or upcoming litter.
Can I visit before reserving a Holland Lop?
For your bunny's safety and our family's privacy, visits to the rabbitry are scheduled only after a hold deposit has been received and a pickup date is confirmed. We are happy to share additional photos, videos, and information about any Holland Lop you are interested in before you reserve.
How old are Holland Lops when they go home?
Holland Lops leave our care no earlier than eight weeks of age. This is the youngest age at which a bunny is fully weaned, independent, and ready to thrive in a new home. Bunnies leaving for nationwide shipping may stay an extra week or two to ensure they travel well.
What if I am a first-time Holland Lop owner?
First-time owners are welcome and well supported. Every family receives a personalized care guide covering diet, housing, bonding, and the first-week transition. We are available by email for the life of your bunny. For additional learning, the House Rabbit Society is an excellent external resource for new rabbit owners.
What if I need to return a Holland Lop?
We genuinely hope this never happens, but if a placement does not work out for reasons beyond your control, we ask that you return the bunny to us rather than rehoming on your own. We will work with you on next steps. Holland Lop Hill takes responsibility for every bunny we have ever placed, for the entire life of the rabbit.
