About Our Holland Lop Rabbitry

Holland Lop Hill Rabbitry is a small-scale, family-run hobby rabbitry based in Sedona, Arizona with over 8 years of experience breeding pedigreed Holland Lop and French Lop rabbits. Every bunny we raise is born into a clean, loving home environment, handled daily from birth, and health guaranteed before going to their forever family. We are ARBA registered and proud to be part of the Holland Lop community.

Our Story

Holland Lop Hill started the way most rabbitries do: with a love of rabbits and a desire to share that with other families. What began as a small backyard project in Sedona, Arizona has grown into a respected hobby rabbitry serving Holland Lop families across all 50 states. We have spent over 8 years carefully developing our breeding program with a focus on temperament, health, and conformation.

We believe Holland Lops and French Lops are some of the most rewarding companion animals a family can welcome home. Our mission is simple: raise healthy, well-socialized bunnies that arrive at their new homes already comfortable being handled, calm in new environments, and ready to bond with their families from day one.

How We Raise Our Bunnies

Every Holland Lop and French Lop at our rabbitry is born indoors in our home, in a clean, climate-controlled environment. From the moment they leave the nest box, our bunnies are handled multiple times every day by our family. This consistent, gentle socialization is the single biggest reason our buyers consistently tell us their new bunny arrived “already friendly” and “comfortable being held from day one.”

Our breeding philosophy is built on a few core principles:

  • Quality over quantity. We keep our herd small and our litters carefully planned so each bunny gets the attention they deserve.
  • Temperament first. Every breeding decision starts with the question: will this pairing produce the friendly, confident temperament our buyers love?
  • Health is non-negotiable. Every bunny that leaves our rabbitry has been health-checked, raised on premium feed, and observed daily for any sign of issues.
  • Pedigree transparency. Full pedigree documentation is available for every bunny, including parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.
  • Lifetime support. Our relationship with our families does not end at adoption. We are always available by email for questions, advice, and support for as long as you have your bunny.

Our Sedona, Arizona Location

We are based in beautiful Sedona, Arizona. The high-desert climate is naturally well-suited to Holland Lop care, with relatively dry conditions year-round and moderate temperatures during most months. Our rabbitry is climate controlled, so our bunnies stay in a consistent 60°F to 75°F range regardless of outside weather.

We are not open to the public for biosecurity reasons. Holland Lops are susceptible to certain rabbit-specific diseases that can be carried on clothing and shoes, and protecting our breeding stock is essential to keeping every bunny healthy. Local Sedona pickup is available on a case-by-case basis with prior arrangement. Nationwide shipping is our standard delivery method, learn more on our Nationwide Ground Transport page.

The Breeds We Raise

Our rabbitry focuses on two lop-eared breeds:

Holland Lops

Holland Lops are our primary focus and have been since we started. We breed Holland Lops in a wide variety of recognized ARBA color varieties including Black Otter, Chocolate Otter, Broken Blue Tort, Magpie, Harlequin, Blue Eyed White, and several Vienna Marked varieties. Holland Lops are one of the smallest lop-eared breeds, weighing just 2 to 4 pounds at maturity, making them ideal for apartments, families with children, and first-time rabbit owners. Read more on our Holland Lop Characteristics guide.

French Lops

We also raise a small number of French Lops, the much larger cousin of the Holland Lop. French Lops are gentle giants weighing 10 to 15 pounds with a calm, easygoing personality that makes them excellent companions for families with the space to accommodate them. Our Commitment to Buyers

When you adopt a Holland Lop or French Lop from Holland Lop Hill, you are not just buying a rabbit. You are joining a community of families who have placed their trust in our breeding program. We take that seriously.

Every adoption includes:

  • Written health guarantee covering pre-existing conditions
  • Full pedigree documentation
  • Pre-departure veterinary health check
  • Transition packet with current pellets, hay sample, and printed care guide
  • Personalized care advice tailored to your home setup
  • Lifetime breeder support via email for as long as you have your bunny

If something goes wrong, we want to know. We have helped families through everything from new-owner anxiety to medical questions years after adoption. Our families are our extended Holland Lop community.

Why Choose a Breeder Over a Pet Store?

Pet store rabbits often come from large-scale commercial breeders or unregulated suppliers. The bunnies are typically removed from their mothers too early, raised in high-stress retail environments, and sold without pedigree, health records, or any breeder support after the sale.

When you adopt from a small, dedicated breeder like Holland Lop Hill, you get a bunny who has been:

  • Raised by the same person from birth to adoption
  • Handled daily and socialized to family life
  • Health-checked and observed for any subtle issues
  • Fed a premium diet from the start
  • Properly weaned and ready for the transition to a new home

The difference shows up immediately. Our buyers consistently tell us that our bunnies arrive calm, friendly, and ready to bond with their new families. That is the result of how they were raised, not luck.

Continuing Resources

If you are new to Holland Lops or French Lops, we maintain a comprehensive Bunny Care Blog covering everything from diet and lifespan to grooming and litter training. We also recommend the House Rabbit Society as an excellent general resource for rabbit owners nationwide.
